I’ve mentioned my wife many times in the telling of this story, usually in the context of late night discussions, strong emotions, the speed of my transition and other issues that we face together. At this point, we’ve both caused the other some pain, but some of mine has tended to subside quicker than I thought it would as I learned more about myself. She on the other hand has had this unfairly thrust upon her and a future that she assumed was secure. That is a pain that can only subside once that future is replaced in some form. We don’t know what that form will be exactly, but we know that we want to shape it together and that will require a level of communication and commitment few couples experience. She is truly brave; as the saying goes, it’s not bravery unless you are terrified.

hello-is-this-thing-on is her perspective on what all this means to her and her ongoing thoughts regarding our family, marriage and future (to borrow her phrase).
